Today the Mega Marine Survey volunteers helped in raising awareness of our marine life during the Open House at the
Tropical Marine Science Institute.
The awesome touch pool is a great attraction and volunteers helped to explain more about the fascinating creatures that can be found on Singapore's shores!

Yen-Ling and Helen had also set up a wonderful display of some of the work being done by the Survey.

Marcus also shared more about a dredge survey that he volunteered for. And how they found all kinds of things including this strange fishy thing which might be a new record for Singapore.
I very quickly went through some of the amazing submerged reefs in Singapore (we have about 30 of them!) and what I've seen on my own trips there in the past. The Survey will be doing these reefs next year! I also shared more data about the more than 700 volunteers that have registered with the Survey! I'm delighted to know that so many young people have joined the Survey. And of course, also lots of people who are young-at-heart, like me.
